For 10 years our priorities have been caring for each other and building community. This does not change. We love football, and are very sad that so far we have not been able to play competitively this year. To read more about our response as a club to the current situation, you can read Gus’ Presidential Address on March 26th here.
Whilst there’s no games or training, there are still ways we can all stay involved and connected.
Strava
We have started a Strava Club!
What is it?
– an app that tracks your exercise; walking, running, cycling
– in our club area online, we can see how each other are going
– encourage, be kept accountable, compete; whatever works for you
– the club leaderboard is based on time spent exercising, not speed or distance; that means it celebrates effort, not performance
– we will also be hosting virtual events and zoom meetings on Strava
How to get involved:
– download Strava for free
– search for “St Barnabas Football Club (The Flames)”
– stay tuned on Strava, and occasionally our Facebook page, for updates
Movie Nights
We’re bringing girls nights back! (Sorry men.)
How will that work?
– virtual watch parties, once a month or so
– broadening our 2 movie repertoire (as much as we love Bend it Like Beckham and She’s the Man, we might actually get around to watching other films too this year; how unprecedented!)
How to get involved:
– details will be posted in theĀ Barney’s Womens Soccer Facebook group
– let us know if you’re not in the group, and we will add you
– make sure you have notifications turned on
